Feeling Much Better

Feeling much better, I like to think it is true that time heals things or at least makes the wound more bearable. Had my psychology exam on Monday, really hope I have done well in it. Chemistry tomorrow and then no more until summer.

Shows to watch: New Girl- it's hilarious
Gossip Girl is back on on Monday! Exciting times :D

Possible plans to improve my med chances:

Must start looking at uni's for medicine in more depth
Join st. John's ambulance, I have always wanted to out of curiosity and now I have the drive and motivation to do so after Medlink and a good Christmas of thinking
Sort out my interview for volunteering at Hospital
Research volunteering involving disabled children.

:D Take Care

Pathetic Fallacy

If I was in a play right now, pathetic fallacy is happening right about now...

Before School Starts Again

List of things to do before school starts:

1. make sure I've gone over all the work for my Chemistry exam >.<
2. same for psychology
3. start making a diary about the thinks I learnt at Medlink and other past work experience before I forget!
4. Meet up with old friend and go shopping! Can't miss the sales!

Take care and good night.

New Year? Resolutions

I've always tried to make New Years resolutions, most of which are usually the same each year! So this year I'm going to be a bit more realistic and hopefully by blogging here on my progress I will be able to motivate myself more into achieving them.

Here goes....
  1. Definitely need to at some point start to learn to drive. I've been 17 for just over 3 months and haven't even had my first drive round- believe it or not!
  2. Decide whether or not I am going to quit piano or violin. I love them both but I'm not making much progress due to the little time I have and would like to reach a respectable grade in at least on of the two instruments.
  3. Do some kind of sport. Since starting 6th form I've not been doing any sports and only realised how unfit I have been getting from the running I did a few days ago at Nottingham Uni during the Medlink Conference. I am soooo not going to let myself be seen panting after barely 50m of running.!
  4. Keep this blog up! :D
  5. Actually try and learn how to manage my time so I can get everything done and have enough time to chill-lax, I've noticed how I've been very poor I am at time management since I started 6th Form.
  6. Start a project on a topic of my choice. During my time at Medlink I have learnt that it is very important to show that you are interested in science and provide some "hard" evidence for it rather than tell them that you spend time reading random science related articles and enjoy reading Focus (BBC magazine on science, technology and random shizz)
  7. There's probably more but I can't think of them at this moment so I will leave with. Set myself small goals every so often and try my very best to achieve them. So tempted to put down lose wait and start trying to look like one of those Victoria Secrets models but if I'm honest I'll never get 1/4 way there.!
So I will finish with.. I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and I wish you a Happy New Year.

First Post

Welcome to my blog. Having read the blogs of junior doctors, I felt that it would be useful for both me and people who may want to go into medicine to read a blog about a person's real life journey on the path of becoming a medical student. I also hope I can provide you with some degree of entertainment as many blogs on being a junior doctor have.

So a few basics:

I did well in my gcses and those of you who feel that you have already lost your chance at a becominga doctor don't feel disheartened, I have now learnt there are infact many ways to get on the medical course even if you don't have the grades your teachers and possibly parents said you needd. I will talk about that in another post.

I am currently doing my first year of A level and guess I should probably be revising for my exams in January(-EEEEEK!) however I have decided I want to start a blog now for the New Year and hopefully keep it up so that by the time I apply for uni I will be able to go back and see the many things I have done.

By the way this blog won't just be about medicine, it's not my life (yet! =L) so I hope you enjoy everything is between.

Enjoy!
